Installation Engineer

A vacant position created as the result of continued annual growth within Power Control Ltd, an independently owned company, incorporated in 1994 and recognised market leader in solid state and modular Uninterruptible Power Supplies.

The main purpose of the role is to carry out UPS associated AC & DC electrical installations, battery maintenance, battery replacements and new battery installations.  To be the customer interface and represent Power Control at all times whilst on site.

RELATIONSHIPS

Responsible to: Service Manager
MAIN TASKS
  • Undertake UPS associated AC & DC electrical installations.
  • Battery works – builds and replacement as required.
  • Provide support to UPS engineers.
  • Clear understanding of safe working practices on site with relevance to high voltage AC and DC equipment.
  • Flexible approach to changing job priorities.
  • Commitment to completing jobs within prescribed timescales to achieve a first time fix.
  • Flexible with your working hours, with some evenings and some weekend work required, sometimes away from home.
  • Customer focused with good interpersonal skills both written and oral and computer literate.
  • To complete all documentation relating to site visits in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Understand and comply with all requirements defined in the Employee Health & Safety Handbook.
  • Understand and comply with all requirements defined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Understand and comply with all requirements defined in the Engineer Performance Standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • C&G 2365 level 3 Electrical Installations certified
  • 17th edition IEE Regulations (C&G 2380) and (C&G 2391) and (2360)
  • Computer literature with experience of using Microsoft packages
  • CSCS or ECS card holder
  • Minimum 5yrs electrical installation experience
  • Ability to operate remotely with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • You take pride in your work and approach all tasks with energy and enthusiasm
  • Good judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Driving licence
HOURS

40 hours per week between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm including out of hour on call rota and working weekends

REMUNERATION

£competitive plus Westfield Health Cashback scheme.
