Power Control Ltd is proud to celebrate the recent success of its close brand partners, Legrand and Borri, following their recognition at the Data Centre World Awards 2026.

Legrand’s Keor FLEX modular UPS was named the winner of “Best Reuse or Recycling of Products, Energy or Data Centre Infrastructure”,  a key category that reflects one of the most pressing challenges facing the data centre industry today; how to deliver high performance whilst reducing the environmental impact, with long-term sustainability.

This is a significant and well-deserved achievement, not only because of the advanced technical innovation behind the product itself, but also because it represents the wider direction the data centre sector must continue to move forward with.

What sets the Legrand Keor FLEX modular UPS apart is its strong focus on environmental circularity. Its modular, hot-swappable architecture allows individual components to be easily replaced, refurbished and redeployed all without the need to replace the entire UPS system. This fundamentally changes the lifecycle of a UPS unit, moving away from a wasteful “replace at end-of-life” model towards one built on longevity and sustainability.

Equally important is the UPS system’s seamless ability to integrate with existing UPS battery infrastructure. The option to reuse established battery configurations, whether its VRLA, lithium-ion or nickel-zinc, is a significant step towards reducing waste and avoiding unnecessary carbon costs.

Power Control’s, head of sales, Matt de Frece commented:

Data centres today face a dual challenge: scaling capacity to meet growing demand whilst simultaneously reducing their environmental footprint.

"The Legrand Keor FLEX UPS demonstrates that these goals are entirely compatible. Its circular design philosophy means the platform is built to last. Achieved by extending the working life of assets, cutting waste, and driving down energy consumption. This UPS solution also supports the evolving demands of AI workloads, all without compromising on total cost of ownership. For our customers, that's a compelling combination of performance, sustainability, and long-term value.”

In an industry where UPS battery disposal and replacement can carry significant environmental and operational costs, this is a positive advancement.

Importantly, the technical performance has not been sacrificed in the design process. With efficiency reaching up to 98.6% in double-conversion mode and over 99% in its ECO mode, the system demonstrates that both sustainability and operational excellence can go hand in hand.

For Power Control, this innovation closely aligns with how it supports all its data centre customers. Increasingly, clients are looking beyond simple compliance or uptime metrics, they are asking how their critical infrastructure choices impact on long-term efficiency, maintainability and in particular, sustainability. Solutions like the Legrand Keor FLEX deliver more informed buying decisions, particularly when integrated early into the technical design and specification process.

Power Control’s close relationship with both Legrand and Borri means it is well positioned to bring these latest advancements directly to its customers. More importantly, it allows the company to contribute to a broader conversation around how critical power infrastructure can evolve to meet the key demands of both performance and sustainability.

This award is not just recognition of a single UPS product, it is a signal of where the entire data centre industry is heading. As AI workloads drive higher densities and greater energy consumption, the need for efficient, adaptable and environmentally responsible power solutions will only continue to grow.

The Keor Flex has also been sortlisted in two categories at the Data Centre Solutions Awards (DCS Awards), Data Centre Power Innovation and Data Centre Sustainability Innovation of the Year. Winners will be announced on the 14th May 2026 in a glittery awards ceremony at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, London St Pauls.

Power Control is delighted to see its parent company and key partners leading the way and looks forward to continuing that journey together.
